Creating the vision board was a fun project for a few reasons. First, I identified certain goals for my professional career. Second, I could highlight what matters most to me: my passions, values, and identity. The first two pictures are of my family and me, because they are extremely important to my life. Next, a picture of Moraine Valley Community College represents a place that played a significant part in my journey. While there, I joined the golf team and learned a lot from the sport. Another reason Moraine was impactful is that it led me to Purdue, which was my original goal. Finally, a picture of a golf course is included to show that golf is a sport I am passionate about and one that has taught me a great deal. Moving on to the career goals aspect of my vision board is a picture of a negotiation. Sales is an area of business, especially the negotiation aspect, and that is the main reason I chose my major. Many things can come to mind when thinking of dream internships, cold calling, building relationships, etc. I am working on the corporate side of a luxury automotive brand. A dream job after 10 years would ideally be at the same company where I interned. However, in 10 years, my dream is to have climbed the ranks and have a corner office. A career path I would not want to pursue is turbine maintenance, simply because I do not like heights. The type of company culture or leadership style for me would be hierarchical. A company structure that lets you work your way up has intrigued me. Next, a bullseye, because my company environment would be reward-based. Lastly, there is a picture of money, because to me, that is what success looks like.
